Intec Digital have confirmed they’ll be re-launching the ‘Pure Intec’ series on April 8, with ‘Pure Intec Two’ – the long-awaited follow up to the hugely successful ‘Pure Intec,’ released back in 2004.

“Jon and I thought it was time,” says Carl. “We’ve been working hard the last few years to get Intec back to the forefront of Techno. We have a great roster, with very talented DJs that deserve recognition. This is our way of celebrating the label’s success, showcasing some of our artists, and of course putting out some amazing tracks.”

Part 1 will be mixed by Carl himself, bringing a whole load of unheard remixes from his acclaimed album, ‘All Roads Lead to The Dancefloor’ by some of Intec’s finest, plus others from outside the label, including Jim Rivers, Ben Sims, Yousef, Foamo, Tomy Declerque, Reso, Nicole Moudaber, Sharam, Layo & Bushwacka! and Loco Dice.

Part 2 comes courtesy of Jon Rundell – his first compilation, and will feature forthcoming tracks from Intec by artists from the label, brought together exclusively for the first time. Artists include The Junkies, Victor Vera, Nicole Moudaber, Daryl Stay, Dosem, Pirupa, Alex Sibley, Marco Bailey, Carlo Lio, Tomy DeClerque, Mark Reeve, Ben Sims and Jon himself, with Digital Primate.

‘All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor’ broke the mould – the first ever self-updating USB album released in phases, with fans paying one price and continuing to receive parts of the album itself as well as other pushed content throughout the year. Following the critical acclaim of the USB and the success of the album, it was the obvious format choice for ‘Pure Intec Two.’ ‘We are returning to this technology as we believe in the concept.’ says Jon.

‘In this day and age it’s important to offer people something different. We 100% believe there’s life left in electronic compilation releases. The demand is there. It’s about presenting things differently and offering fans value for money.’

The concept is simple, fans who pay for the USB with the first compilation included, also receive every other Pure Intec compilation, as they are released – the music being automatically ‘pushed’ to their USBs.

Jon Rundell: ‘When you look at the number of compilations, the number of hours of music you’ll be getting, from an array of Intec artists, buying the USB is well worth the money. And it’s a chance for people to embrace a cutting edge new digital music format that is still also tangible.’

Traditionalists have no fear, the compilation will also be available on all download stores as a bundle, with Carl’s album remixes being released as individual downloads at a not too distant date.

And finally, to coincide with the release, Intec have confirmed a brand new series of nights across London and Europe for 2013. Kicking off this April, with an album release party at one of London’s coolest venues, they’ll soon be confirming details of a string of dates in the capital, Ibiza and beyond, giving Intec the opportunity to showcase their talent and musical ethos like never before.

More free stuff today, this time courtesy of lovely Carl Cox, the world’s nicest DJ. If you’ve ever dreamed of the big fella spinning at your party, well, dream no longer – kind of – as today he launches his brand new mixer App – ‘Carl Cox Is Playing In My House,’ bringing his DJ skills to any party, anywhere in the world, anytime. And it’s completely FREE!

And Carl’s generosity doesn’t end there. Oh no. The Carl Cox Mixer app – available for iPhone, iPad and iPad Touch – comes out alongside his first new track in six years – “Family Guy,” straight from Carl‘s upcoming album “All Roads Lead To The Dancefloor.”

The exclusive ‘Family Guy’ download is classic Carl territory – a slice of icy-cool techno and deep house, already a fan favourite after Carl added an early version to his website last year. “It was inspired by certain key changes in the Family Guy show’s theme tune,” explains Carl. “Ever since I put it online, I’ve had so much feedback and so many requests for it to be released. It had to be the first single, and what better way to launch the app!”

The mixer app is a collaboration between Carl Cox and Musicsoft Arts, creators of DJ Mixer, the top selling music mixing application on the iPhone and on the iPad. Launched TODAY, June 30th, this new party app is packed with music hand-picked by Carl Cox and played back in an automated DJ set from Carl himself (well, his digital clone).

How It Works:

Users can take over and mix the tracks themselves with two CDJ decks and an all-powerful mixing station at their fingertips. Carl’s DJ booth comes complete with two CDJ decks, music mixer, an array of mix effects and features, and direct access to the Intec Digital catalogue. More DJ features include looping, sound effects, real-time time stretching for tempo change without affecting song’s pitch, low-latency headphone monitoring, pitch change – everything a DJ could need. Users can also record their DJ sets simply by touching a Record button.

Another feature, Music Video Party, turns the app into a visual party – videos to the music on app can be viewed on the device or on a big screen connected to the device.

The App is offered as a free download on Apple’s App Store that comes with 3 new tracks from Intec Digital, including two exclusive new tracks – “Family Guy” and “Twisted Machine”, an unreleased collaboration from Carl Cox and Jon Rundell.

Additional tracks from Intec Digital can be purchased and downloaded directly onto the App for a complete Carl Cox interactive DJ set. Tracks include dance floor bangers from Robert Babicz, Jon Rundell, Nicole Moudaber, Yousef, and more.

Here’s a couple of videos of the App in action:

It’s proving to be a busy old year for our favourite superstar DJ. We’ve already told you about his landmark anniversary at Space this summer (The Revolution – 10 Years at Space kicks off July 5th) but now, on top of that, he’s confirmed he’ll be releasing a brand new artist album – All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor, over three different phases, starting on August 1.

Recorded over the last year in Carl’s Melbourne studio the new album showcases a range of styles including Vocal House, Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Latin and of course Techno. “This album is aimed purely at the dancefloor,” says Carl. “Every track should be a winner too as I’ve been road-testing and remixing them to make sure they really do work.”

Unbelievably it’s been nearly 6 years since his last album, so this is a pretty big deal, especially as Carl’s chosen to present it on never-before-seen USB technology – offering far more than a conventional album. “You pay the one price for the one product,” explains Carl. “And the USB will not only give you the album, but it’ll also be your key to everything I do in the next 12 months or so.”

Confused? Intrigued? Here’s how it works:

The USB interface is essentially a website home page but most features will not require it to be connected to the web, making it usable on the train, in flight, in remote locations etc. Buyers will be able to stream, as well as download the album & remixes, plus they’ll have access to the entire Intec Digital catalogue, access to Carl’s latest four Global radio shows, exclusive videos & Carl Cox news and more – and all for just £20.

With this new USB interface new content can be added to the USB sticks, even after they have been purchased – a user simply plugs in, the USB will connect automatically to its CMS location and update within seconds. So, being able to add content at any stage down the USB’s life makes it an album that essentially lives on – its life is extended through new exciting content that people will want to plug in again for. These content additions are set to include a vast range of continually added features including access to additional album remixes, exclusive sets recorded from Space Ibiza, video interviews & behind the scenes video footage from Carl on tour, and what really stands out – access to LIVE (Realtime) video streams from Carl’s gigs. Intec have also worked along side Pioneer on this project, giving the budding DJ an insight into the future of DJing with USB sticks – videos on the stick will include tutorial, tips & tricks with Carl, behind the scenes at a sound check, Pioneer Rekordbox tutorial, plus more.

As Carl explains: “I’m asking people to buy the USB, and I’m promising that with the singles, the videos, the actual album, plus all the extras – they won’t be disappointed. I didn’t want to just put it online and let that be that. I’ve spent too long on it, and it’s too important to me to be degraded that way. I wanted to do something special with this release, something really forward thinking, and I think we’ve achieved it.”

The campaign will see the music behind ‘All Roads lead to the Dancefloor’ released along side its many extras over three separate phases:

Phase 1

The USB will be available from August 1st following the first single release, ‘Family Guy,’ downloadable from July 4th – a 10-minute slice of classic techno. Family Guy comes with massive remixes from Layo & Bushwacka! & Jon Rundell, which will be available on the USB.

On August 1st, fans can enjoy the first taster of the album, with 12 brand new tracks becoming available. This includes cuts that will be on the final album, along with B-sides and exclusives.

Phase 2

On September 26th owners of the USB will receive the second single, a vocal dub step mix of a track called ‘Nexus’ complete with remixes and video followed by the final and complete album on October 17th.

October 31st the third single, ‘Chemistry’ (plus remixes) will be released, along with another video.

Phase 3

Throughout the end of this year on through to next, the USB will be updated with ongoing LIVE footage of Carl & his band touring. Buyers will be able to follow Carl at rehearsals, on the road and on stage as the album gets performed live to thousands across 5 cities in Australia – the first ever live Carl Cox tour. “We’ve already trialled it a couple of times here in Melbourne and I’m pleased to say it worked,” says Carl. “These shows will be a mix of both DJing and performing, which will be a challenge. But I’ve never taken the easy option. I take pride in that.”

The first single, Family Guy is out July 4, with the USB and album taster following on August 1.
