As the end of 2012 approaches, we thought we’d look back through our year here at EMMS and share some of our favourite releases of the year. All a pleasure to work with!

We already have loads of exciting projects lined up for 2013, so stay tuned for lots more new music.

MOYA

2012 was a big year for 21 year old Moya. She started the year with a beautiful cover of  ’I'm Losing More Than I’ll Ever Have’ and ended it with ‘Making Me Fall’  - A Listed for 3 weeks on BBC Radio 2.  Hailed by Perez Hilton as “A female Bruno Mars,” tipped by Fearne Cotton on her Radio One show and described as “Provocative, stylish and sassy” by The Daily Mirror – we’re expecting big things for Moya in 2013. Her stunning new single ‘A Little More Love’  is due out early next year, but in the mean time here’s ‘Making Me Fall’

DARYL HALL AND RUMER

Our round up of 2012 wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the legend that is Daryl Hall. A real return to form this year with his brand new studio album, ‘Laughing Down Crying,’ which won him praise everywhere from the Telegraph, Times and Q Magazine. There was the sold out gig at Shepherd’s Bush too, which featured guest appearances from both KT Tunstall and Rumer. The latter of which also appeared on Daryl’s now famous ‘Live From Daryl’s House. Here’ s our favourite from that session, Daryl and Rumer singing Hall & Oates classic, ‘Can’t Go For That.’

GABBY YOUNG & OTHER ANIMALS

A great year for Gabby Young, who had lots of acclaim for her album ‘The Band Called Out For More.’ Glowing reviews everywhere from The Guardian, FT, Clash and the Fly. ‘Walk Away’ was one of our favourite tracks off the album, and also the second single, released back in October. Check out Gabby and her dad here, and expect to be hearing a lot more from her and the Animals in 2013

ANJA MCCLOSKEY

We’ve worked with Anja throughout the year, and pleased to see her music finally getting the recognition it deserves. Q likened her to “A Romany gypsy cabaret show” whilst This Is Fake DIY was “Taken aback by the sheer level of beauty.” It’s hard to pick a favourite from Anja, but we’d suggest starting with the lovely ‘Italian Song’:

SCARLETTE FEVER

Another One to Watch for 2013, Scarlette Fever’s debut single ‘Crash & Burn’ hit the BBC Radio 2′s B-list last year in the UK, and reached #2 on the Billboard Breakout Club Chart in the USA. This year she followed it with another Radio 2 B-list for widescreen ballad ‘Elated,’ along with national press acclaim.  She’s currently in the studio recording new material with Julian Emery (Lissie, McFly, Newton Faulkner) and has spent the latter half of this year performing, writing and recording in the US.

Here’s one of our favourites from this year:  ‘Hour Of Sunshine’
